Pledge | No Israeli Dates in CU

Dates are one of Palestine’s coveted fruits. Like many countries in the Arabian Peninsula, the weather and environment support their growth. They are especially important to Muslims in Palestine and globally, during the blessed month of Ramadan. In Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunup to sundown and often break or open their fast on a date (or many).

But Israeli dates are a product of theft and abuse. They are often grown on illegal Israeli settlements using stolen Palestinian water and poorly compensated Palestinian laborers.

Date brands* to avoid:

king solomon dates | urban platter | star dates | sincerely nuts | hadiklaim | edeka | delilah | shah co | jordan river | galil | ventura | food to live | navafresh | carmel agrexco | anna and sarah

*this list is not exhaustive, avoid dates that say: “product of Israel“, “product of Jordan Valley” and sometimes “product of West Bank” as Israelis attempt to sidestep on going boycotts (because they work).
