All individuals are invited to work with CU MAC as team members or friends. We also invite you to join us as a supporter.

CU MAC TEAM MEMBERS

CU MAC team members are members of the organization and have a responsibility to it. CU MAC team members may represent the organization in a limited capacity as assigned to them. CU MAC team members sign an agreement and have access to internal CU MAC documents and meetings.

CU MAC is a faith-focused organization guided by Islamic principles. We value our friends in the community and work with many different factions when it comes to shared projects and goals. As an organization we will not endorse, promote, or sanction activities that go against agreed upon (jumhoor) Islamic principles.

CU MAC members are expected to be respectful of these views when representing the organization.

• Benefits:
  • Joining an active group of individuals dedicated to education, advocacy, and community.
  • Access to monthly meetings, mentorship, and direction.
  • Directly plugging into activism work in the Champaign-Urbana area and across the state on matters pertaining to Palestinian rights and self-determination as well as other issues relevant to the Muslim community and greater CU community.
• Responsibilities:
  • Ability to dedicate 2+ hours weekly to the organization as well as attend monthly meetings.
  • Regularly check into our digital organizing space for updates, action items, and community.
  • *Commit to raising $500 for the organization annually. This may be paid by the individual if they choose but the goal is to gather the funds from the community. [*beginning 2026]
