Champaign County – 2025 Voter Guide

Consolidated Primary Election, February 25 + Municipal Consolidated Election, April 1

In 2025 there are local municipal elections throughout Champaign County. There will be two elections in our county. On Tuesday, February 25 there will be an election called “Consolidated Primary Election”, in this election candidates from the same party will be running to hold that party position for the next election. This year there is only a primary election in Urbana and only for 3 positions: Urbana Mayor, Urbana Ward 2 Alderman, and Urbana Ward 6 Alderman.

In April, a general election will be held, called “Municipal Consolidated Election”. In this election, candidates will be running to hold open positions throughout the county. These include, but are not limited to: mayor and all council member seats* in Urbana, 5 council member seats* in Champaign, multiple seats within local townships including Champaign Township and the City of Champaign Township, and multiple seats with local school boards.

*Often there is only one person running for the open seat.

We have prepared a voter guide and you can access it here. Feel free to share widely.

Don’t forget to vote on 2/25 if you live in Urbana!
